Unique baby shower gifts

Prior to becoming a mom, hunting down a unique baby shower gift was a difficult task for me! It’s always great to gift off of a registry because you know it’s something the parents-to-be will need! However, every now and then it’s fun to find a unique gift the mommy-to-be isn't expecting! I’ve rounded up 7 of my favorite unique baby items that are sure to be a hit!

1. Munch Mitt
We found this at Target a couple of weeks ago and have LOVED it. It comes in lots of fun prints with some great gender neutral options as well. Pair it with Wellements teething oil for the perfect gift set!
2. Bannor Toys State Rattle
Hands down a FAVORITE! They are handmade in the USA from natural wood. You can customize the bead colors and add a name and birth stats. If you purchase now, you can always ship it back to them, and they will add the birth information!

3. Parker Baby Diaper Caddy
This is perfect for storing all the needed essentials! We enjoy carrying it from room to room and having all of our diaper changing necessities handy! Pair this with diapers, wipes, and diaper cream and you’ve got a perfect gift “basket.”
4. Boon Grass and Twig Drying Rack
Babies come with bottles. Lots and lots of bottles! We’ve loved having a designated space for drying all things bottles and baby things in general! The twig accessory is great for drying bottle parts and paci’s. An added bonus is that it’s cute so it doesn't bother me sitting out! I think this is a great stand alone gift, but you could always pair it with the boon bottle brush!
5. Guess How Much I Love You Milestone Gift Set
Mommy’s and Daddy’s want to document EVERYthing. We’ve certainly enjoyed taking Harrison’s monthly “birthday” picture and recording all of his first’s. This gift set has 24 milestone cards parents can fill out and the matching board book!
 6. Feltman Brothers outfit
I don’t have enough wonderful things to say about Feltman Brothers. They've remained classic through the years making any pick a timeless keepsake!
7. Something just for the mommy-to-be
Growing a baby (or more for some) is HARD WORK. Labor and delivery is HARD WORK. Being a new momma, whether your 1st or 5th, is HARD WORK. A forever favorite baby shower gift idea is something just for mom! A gift basket with bubble bath, lotion, and a cozy robe. A gift card for a manicure and pedicure. The ideas are endless and one that won’t be forgotten!

Harrison's nursery reveal

Little Boys Should Never Be Sent to Bed They Always Wake up a Day Older
-Peter Pan

One of the most exciting things about finding out I was pregnant was decorating our sweet baby's nursery! When Jonathan and I decided to start trying to conceive, we lived in a comfortably-sized, two bedroom apartment. Truthfully, we had no intent of rushing to find a house just because we were growing by one. However, when our cozy little cottage landed in our lap, we couldn't resist. So here we are, 9 months and a precious boy later, living in our 2 bedroom/2 bath home. Given the size of our home, Harrison's nursery also doubles as our guest bedroom. This never presented itself as a problem when designing his room because our home was built with two master suites so we had plenty of space to work with.

The inspiration for his nursery came from a Beatrix Potter print I found at Goodwill before Jonathan and I were even engaged! I fell in love with it and hung onto it hoping one day I would get to use it. One of the things my mom taught me, is to purchase things that speak to you, and leave the ones that don't! So, with my Goodwill find in hand as inspiration, I started dreaming up a whimsical, organic nursery fit for a prince. I'm a neutral lover at heart, so I wanted to break that mold somewhat, while still staying in my comfort zone. So, for the walls I chose Sherwin Williams Daphne. It was a perfect play on the blue that comes to mind when I think of Peter Rabbit! From there, I focused on finding a crib, bookcase, and side table that were understated enough to satisfy my need for neutral without lacking the fun that a nursery craves. One of my favorite finds was a skirted side table from Ballard Designs with a tan and cream buffalo check skirt! This acts as nightstand on the nursery side of the room! I filled a simple white bookshelf with whimsy treasures old and new- including mine and Jonathan's childhood books, my baby rattle, and my favorite, a petite glass treasure box to house his hospital bracelet once we brought him home. The understated crib design was brought to life with bedding from Fireflies and Fairytales. I can't praise them enough! Each piece is handmade and prayed over prior to shipping out! A gallery wall of 6 Beatrix Potter prints (including the original inspiration print) framed in simple gold frames completed our nursery. It quickly became and still is, one of our favorite spaces to be in!
